May 25th & 26th 8am-7pm Augusta Air Show About: Don’t miss the 2024 Augusta Air Show, featuring the U.S. Air Force F-22 Raptor Demo Team at the Augusta Regional Airport on May 25-26. This is a rare opportunity to witness incredible aerial maneuvers up close and personal, as they demonstrate their precision and speed with breathtaking stunts. See displays from some of the most skilled pilots in the world, with a lineup of thrilling performances. May 28th 5:30pm social/ 6:00pm General Meeting (Hosted by the Environmental CSP) About: This is our general membership meeting where we discuss ongoing projects and catch-up with our fellow members. For this meeting, please dress in any clothes or accessories that feature birds, bees, and butterflies. Best dressed on theme will win a prize! June 1st 9am-12pm Kayaking on the Savannah River About: RSVP a kayak for yourself on June 1st at 9am! Come meet us and let's float down the Savannah River Location: 3300 Evans to Locks Rd, Augusta, GA 30907 Cost: $35 ($30 for kayak rental and $5 for shuttle fee) Please make sure you RSVP ahead of time so that you can get a kayak! June 3rd 3pm-6pm Making "Welcome Home" or "Welcome" Door Hangers for Ronald McDonald House About: We have been asked by the Ronald McDonald House for Door Hangers for 26 rooms. · We will have wooden 12-inch circles that can be painted or stained. · Flowers and Ribbon can be added. · "Welcome" lettering will be provided. · Paint will be provided - unless you have some acrylic spring or summer colors. · Please bring spring or summer ribbon or "silk" flowers you have. · Bring a snack to share, water will be provided. · You do not need to attend the whole 3 hours - the times were set so members could come and go when they had time. June 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th & July 9th at 8pm Evenings in Appleby Garden Concert Series About: Enjoy soulful summer nights at the 70th 2024 Evenings in Appleby Concert Series. History: The house was given to the City of Augusta and Richmond County to be used as a library that was first opened in 1954.by Mr. Scott B. Appleby and his son, James Scott Appleby. The evenings in Appleby Garden Concert Series, originally known as “Music in the Garden,” began in 1954 as an evolution of a former library program, a listening series for classical music at the old library headquarters. Location: On the grounds of Appleby Brach Library, 2260 Walton Way, Augusta, Georgia Cost: Free to the public What to bring: chairs, snacks, and drinks. June 12th 8:30am-11:00am Juneteenth Community Clean-up About: Through a partnership with Augusta Technical College, the Juneteenth Community Clean-Up initiative is designed to aesthetically improve our environment by creating cleaner parks, streetscapes, and public spaces through litter removal and elimination. The clean-up is meant to unify and beautify the CSRA communities and prompt individuals to take greater responsibility for their local environment. Date: Wednesday. June 13th 6pm-9pm Juneteenth Augusta Health Forum About: The Juneteenth Augusta Health Forum focuses on the natural health, fitness, and mental care of the Augusta/CSRA community. The forum is made up of health, social, business, and voluntary sector workers, who share a common goal of reducing inequalities in the overall health and mental care of the community, enabling them to become confident and informed about their health, mental care, and all available resources/services to the CSRA Region. June 15th 6pm-9pm Juneteenth The Free-Ish Art Exhibit About: Embodies a celebration of freedom, culture, and creativity within our community. By showcasing the diverse talents of local artists, it offers a platform for expression and storytelling, amplifying voices that might otherwise go unheard. Through vibrant displays of visual art, sculpture, and performance, the exhibit cultivates an atmosphere of inclusivity and reflection, inviting viewers to engage with themes of identity, history, and social justice.
